We developed a logo, corporate identity, and a website with a payment system for a chess club in Dubai

chessclub.ae is a project by a Russian team in Dubai to create and promote an amateur chess club. At the start of the project, there were no competitors, but over the course of the project, a competitor with a similar offer appeared on the market.
The project's design is our most minimalistic, done in black and white. The site is multilingual, available in Russian, English, and Arabic—Arabic was the most interesting part of working on the project, and our team has much to be proud of.

We came up with the website structure
The club offers members a variety of events: offline training, chess tournaments, chess club meetings, and networking.
We began working on the website by distributing the client's requested information across future pages and structuring the text for each. On the main page, we planned a block for each area of activity and arranged them according to the popularity of audience queries.
Developed the website style and design layouts
All chess-related websites are very conservatively designed: we couldn't find any truly good examples from competitors, so we decided to create our own example for future projects in the industry.
We used two colors for the website, black and white, and also made extensive use of inversion. The layout featured chess pieces.
We created a multilingual version
The club is located in the United Arab Emirates, but is primarily aimed at Russian and European audiences. Together with the client, we developed and created an English version, as well as an Arabic version.
Arabic is a particular challenge for our team. The language is read from right to left, and it seemed that simply mirroring the pages would be sufficient. However, upon closer inspection, it became clear that simply mirroring the active controls was not possible, as their placement on Arabic websites is close to that of European websites.
After developing the pages, we asked professional Arabic language specialists to proofread them, who complemented our research. The result was a fully functional and locally accessible version of the website.
Developed a logo
Our task was to create a logo that could be placed on a website, business cards, pens, and used for social media accounts and posts.
The logo used a 5-square chessboard pattern. We also developed a separate, larger version of the logo indicating the project's territorial affiliation: ae.
The logo was tested on several media: it was recognizable everywhere and retained a clear image of the chess club.

Online payment system enabled
The website allows you to pay for courses and classes online. We used the international payment gateway Stripe for payment. This is a very low-code solution that allows you to create the necessary products in the app, and for each product, specify a unique link with the name and set the price.
The resulting link is inserted into a button on the website, and all further management is handled by the service. Convenient, but we are spoiled by modern payment solutions from Russia. And we lacked functionality.
Payment doesn't involve creating sales receipts, which is also unusual for us.

Developed the layout and frontend application
For us, the layout of the Arabic version of the site was a separate and rather complex task: in Arabic, text is arranged from right to left. In addition to the text, we needed to take care of the controls: we had to change their order and placement. Some of the content on the Arabic version of the site is in English, which further complicated our task.
The website is built with vue.js using nuxt.js static generation. Page load time: 1.03 seconds (before installing Google Analytics).
